This is Cosmic Dash: Volume 2, Episode 4, Page 9. Space pirate captain Vid Seng learns a surprising galactic development and is several steps behind. This continues the previous remastered page of “The Cube” and puts everything in line with the text of the recent volume.
In the proper numbering order based on the current numbering system of the comic, this would be CD.2.1.11.However, I have not adjusted the title or how it appears in the archive to keep permalinks preserved and not throw off crawlers. I have included the archived content and original page below the transcript.
The politics of the space pirates lie in the fact that they are a decentralized organization; the role of the space pirate queen is a collectivist tool, but all pirates operate independently. The Queen is recognized and given power by the virtue of other pirates buying in. Still, if a crew seeks to separate or not acknowledge the collected icon of leadership, they also do not get to reap the benefits of the loose organization.
In many ways, most crews operate to strengthen their own influence and will rip one another off or take advantage of weakened positions. They also collaborate, but as we see here… the collaboration is minimal at best. Mostly teasing, it seems.
Episode 4: Pg 9 Transcript
The following is a transcript for Cosmic Dash Episode 4: Pg 9, part of “The Cube” storyarc.
Tyeal, a gomben space pirate captain, has a smug expression on her face as she is needling Vid.
Tyeal: “Ah. Nevermind. it’s just for us earners, I bet.”
Vid: “You brought it up.”
Tyeal responds through the transmission. She is grinning.
Tyeal: “Well, I ain’t given you any of my leans, but there is a whole stack of goodies for whoever finds the stuff that was stolen. We’ve been getting info about radiation tags on it. You know, the GalactiCorp thing.”
Vid looks confused, but his interest is piqued.
Vid: “What GalactiCorp thing?”
Tyeal shrugs. She refuses to answer as she signs off.
Tyeal: “Viddy, you need to cut down on the drinking. Take it easy.”
Vid inputs a search in a GIN search engine. The search term is “GalactiCorp.”
Caption: “Five minutes later.”
Vid’s anguish echoes into the common room.
