Sorry for the delay again. This is Cosmic Dash, Volume 4, Episode 3, Page 11. For those of you keeping track, this is considered CD.4.3.11 in the archive. This page features Alix and Mara parting ways for a bit, amidst what seems to be an assembly of local birds.
This page is late. I am sorry, but I must prioritize my paid work. I did also have a little bit of a manic episode, and out of it kind of realized I needed to dial back some things. Honestly, this page didn’t take long to put together; finding the motivation to start proved an issue. I can’t necessarily promise next week’s coming will be on time as I am still grappling with some stuff – but I do feel a little better having finished this one after radically changing some stuff.
In case you missed it, Serreven.com updated with another page of “Blood & Oil.” Ideally, that will update next week.
Speaking of updates, Part 8 of “The Trench” was also updated last week. I am aiming to do another part this week. Fingers crossed. It has some connection to the current setting despite being nearly a century back in the timeline.
Also, I am no longer on Twitter. I have given up on the Bird App, as it has literally gone to the birds. You can now find me on Mastodon, as well as a dedicated Cosmic Dash account.
Birds… in space!
The avian creatures that seem to be all over the colony of Ferrow’s Hope are a kind of space bird – the Pitral. The Pitral species is native to Vumba and have many characteristics of birds as we know them. Hollow bones, beaks, and feathers, but what sets them apart is their two sets of wings. Broader, larger wings on these alien birds generate the most power and speed. The smaller set of wings offers a level of maneuverability akin to birds such as hummingbirds. These faster, smaller wings can fap in the opposite direction of the larger wings, allowing this bird species to almost hover in place.

Panel One
Mara and Alix are still in the street of Ferrow’s Hope. Captain Mara is still fiddling with her mobile.
Mara: “Anyway, I am off to get information about the surrounding systems. Maybe see if we can avoid some danger up ahead. What are you up to?
Alix: “Just looking for supplies or trade opportunities. Now might be a good time to unload some of our stock given we’re ‘heroes.'”
Panel Two
Mara and Alix walk in different directions. We see Mara in the foreground while Alix is heading into the distance. Mara looks pensive.
Mara: “Sounds good, Alix. Stay out of trouble.”
Panel Three
Mara and Alix continue walking away from one another. Alix is in the foreground and has a suspicious expression. Mara retreats into the background.
Alix: “You as well, Mara.”

Take your time, man. Everyone’s still reading. Sorry to hear that you’re going through so much trouble, it seems to be going around. Keep on going whenever you can, nobody’s gonna take you to task for doing what you have to do. Interesting to see Alix’s attitude change from before. Wonder where that’s gonna go.
